Truck Driver Clothing Packing List for a Week on the Road

You know the bag: three hoodies, the wrong pair of pants, and somehow no clean shirt by Thursday. A useful road wardrobe starts with the next laundry stop. Once you know when you can wash, the rest gets easier.

Use this seven-day clothing checklist as a starting point. Adjust it for weather, how often you change, and any clothing requirements at your stops.

Count the days between laundry stops

Pack for the longest stretch you expect to go without washing, then add a spare change. For a week with no planned laundry, that might mean eight tees and eight pairs each of socks and underwear. If you have a reliable midweek laundry stop, you can take fewer. If plans change often, the spare set earns its space.

Don't build the count around re-wearing something when you'd rather change. Start with your actual routine.

• Two or three pairs of everyday bottoms that work with your shirts.
• One hoodie or other midweight layer.
• One outer layer suited to the forecast.

This is an example, not a fixed uniform. A trip with frequent laundry needs less clothing. A trip with messy work or big swings in temperature may need more.

Pick shirts for the cab, not the closet

Shirts make up most of the bag, so choose ones that stay comfortable through a long day in the seat. A lighter tee works well in a warm cab and under a hoodie. Build outfits from a small color palette

Black, charcoal, navy and one lighter neutral are easy to mix. Pick two bottoms you already like, then choose shirts that work with both. You get more usable outfits without packing more pieces. If you want a dedicated pair for the road, browse joggers and shorts.

One warm layer, chosen well

You rarely need more than one hoodie if it's the right one.
